What does "Second Wind" mean?

🌍 Second Wind: Tech with a Conscious

"Second Wind" isn’t just a catchy name; it’s a commitment to the planet. Every year, millions of tons of e-waste end up in Canadian landfills, leaking chemicals and wasting perfectly good components. I started this in my Raymond basement because I believe that a "glitchy" console or a "dead" laptop shouldn't be the end of the story.

How We Fight the Landfill:

  • The "Right to Repair": We prioritize micro-soldering and component-level fixes over simply replacing entire boards. This keeps more plastic and heavy metals out of the dirt.
  • Giving Tech a "Re-Home": Whether it's a 1978 Kenner Vader or a 2024 Dell Latitude, if it still has life in it, we find the person who needs it. One man’s "obsolete" is another man’s "exactly what I was looking for."
  • Ethical Sourcing: By buying from local auctions like Kastner’s and estate sales, we’re part of a local cycle that keeps value right here in Alberta.
  • The "Beaver Pelt" Standard: We use recycled packing materials whenever possible (without sacrificing that "over-engineered" safety!).

The Bottom Line: When you buy from Second Wind, you aren't just getting a deal—you’re voting for a world where we fix things instead of just throwing them away. It keeps the Raymond landfills a little emptier and your pockets a little fuller. Pretty good deal, eh?
